Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre was a remarkable female composer of the Baroque, a woman whose talents in composition and performance alike were second to no man. In this concert of mostly (if not all) Singapore premieres, Red Dot Baroque paints a musical portrait of this lesser-known composer through an exploration of her instrumental and vocal works, interspersed with readings of her extraordinary life. The programme culminates in Samson, a cantata for soprano and instruments featuring Teng Xiang Ting.
