Republic Polytechnic Vodcast #2: Red Dot Baroque: Divisions on a Ground

Designed for the Reflections Community Arts Festival 2020: Global Local, this fun programme features Western music from the turn of the 17th century, performed on period instruments. The origins and influences of these pieces can be traced to Italy, England, Spain and The Netherlands – yet all performed for you on home ground Singapore by your local baroque ensemble, Red Dot Baroque. Artistic Director and violinist Alan Choo will take you through the age-old musical technique of “variations on a tune”, providing engaging commentary behind every piece, and introduces you to unique instruments such as the baroque violin, baroque cello and the theorbo.

*The Vodcast series is supported by the National Arts Council
